2. The prayer in these Writ Petitions is to consider the representation of the petitioners to allot one vacant house among the 73 houses situated in Valleeswaran Thottam in R.A.Puram, Chennai.

When the matters are taken up for admission, Mrs.K.Indhumathy Venkatesan, learned Counsel, taking notice for the respondent board, would submit that the said houses are redeveloped in the very same site. Preferences are given to the erstwhile occupants and even with reference to the vacancies, only the persons who are displaced from the Koovam restoration projects are given preference. After the said preference, there is no house which is vacant in the said project.
4. In view thereof, the prayer of the petitioner, as such, cannot be countenanced. However, the petitioners' claim is that they are eligible claimants. Their applications shall be kept pending and as per their seniority, as and when their turn comes for any other project also, the petitioners' claim can be considered and if they are eligible, allotment can be made by the respondent.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
