The rejection order (Na.Ka.No.A1/78/2021) dated 10.10.2023 passed by the fourth respondent, is put under challenge in the present Writ Petition. Further, the petitioner has sought for a direction to the respondents to allow her to receive the ration things on behalf of the petitioner's father.

2. Heard both sides.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that she is aged about 82 years and suffering from old age medical ailments and unable to go to ration shops and her son is a special child and hence, she made a request of authorization of her daughter to receive the ration things to the fourth respondent, however, there was no response. Following the same, she addressed her grievance to the Chief Minister's Cell. Without considering all these aspects, the fourth respondent had cancelled her ration card and hence, the present petition.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that due to age health ailments, the petitioner requested the respondents to permit her daughter to receive the ration things on her behalf, however, without considering the same, her ration card has been cancelled. He thus prayed this Court to grant the relief as sought for by the petitioner in the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 2 to 4 submitted that the Commissioner, Food Distribution & Consumer Protection Department, Chepauk, Chennai has passed an order dated

14.11.2025, to include the petitioner's ration card under the "Thayumanavar Scheme" as a Special Case, whereby the ration things will be supplied to the beneficiary at their home as per the Scheme and he has also produced the copy of the aforesaid proceedings of the Commissioner, dated 14.11.2025 before this Court today. Hence, he prayed that in the view of the proceedings of the Commissioner, dated 14.11.2025, the petition may be closed.

6. Recording the submissions of the learned Additional Government Pleader, the Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no orders as to costs.
