O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 02.02.2020 and to pass orders within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Heard Mr.V.Nandagopalan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3. The admitted case of the petitioner is that she purchased the subject property in the year 1989 and the property was acquired in the year 2004. There are absolutely no records to show as to what transpired from the year 2004 till 2020 and after a deep slumber, the petitioner makes a representation on 02.02.2020 to the respondents requesting the respondents to pay compensation or to re-convey the property.

4. In the considered view of this Court, this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of latches. The petitioner cannot be allowed to reopen an acquisition which had taken place sixteen years ago and the petitioner had chosen to remain silent without even moving her little finger. This Court cannot come to the aid of the petitioner and this Court does not find any merits in this writ petition.

5. In view of the above, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
