ORDER
(DELIVERED BY P.N.PRAKASH, J.) This petition has been filed by the petitioner, the father of the detenu, V.Vimal, for a direction on the respondent to produce the detenu before this Court and set him at liberty.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.
3. It is seen from the affidavit filed in support of the petition that the petitioner's son, Vimal, went missing since 7.7.14 in connection with which a case in Crime No.684/14 has been registered by H-2, Guduvancherry Police Station under the section 'Boy Missing'.
4. It is further evident from the record that the respondent police have filed three status reports before this Court detailing the steps taken by them to trace the missing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
boy. A perusal of the report shows that the details about the missing boy has been posted in the Tamil Nadu Police Website as well as in the Criminal Tracking Network Systems Website. It is also evident that the police have formed a special team headed by Mr.Govindasamy, Sub-Inspector of Police, for tracing the missing boy. The above facts clearly indicate that the alleged detenu, Vimal, is not under illegal custody, which fact is also evident from the petition.

In the above circumstances, this Court directs the respondent police to earnestly proceed with the investigation in Crime No.684/14 to trace the missing boy and keep the petitioner informed of any development/break through in the investigation. It is also made clear that the respondent police shall follow the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court in Bachpan Bachao Andolan - Vs - Union of India (2011 (5) SCC 1).
6. With the above observation this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
