ORDER
Seeking a direction to the respondent to investigate the matter and to file final report in Crime No.599 of 2012 pending investigation with a stipulated time, the petitioner has come up with this petition.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent and perused the materials placed on record.
3.Today, Mr.T.K.Kumaran, Inspector of Police, G6, Cheyyur Police Station, Kanchipuram, is present before this Court. 4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions from the respondent Police, submitted that the present Inspector of Police is taking earnest efforts to proceed against the accused. got married to one Sowmya (A3) and their marriage was a failure. It is alleged by the complainant that the family members of Sowmya came to their house and created troubles. Under such circumstances, the FIR was registered against Sowmya and her parents by the police in Crime No.599 of 2012. This Court is aware of the legal position that an order directing the police to file a charge sheet against the accused or drop action against the accused, cannot be passed by this Court under Section 482 CrPC. It is the duty of the investigating officer to conduct the investigation in a fair manner in accordance with law. 5.Under such circumstances, this Court directs the Inspector of Police, to complete the investigation in Crime No.599 of 2012 this way or that way and file a report before the concerned Magistrate, after serving notice on the defacto complainant, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
