Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of certiorarified mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned notice of the respondent in Na.Ka.No.1127/2020/F1 dated 28.02.2024 and quash the same and direct the respondent Municipality not to proceed for evicting the petitioner from the shop which is situated at Bunk Shop No.23, State Bank near, West main Road, Mettur Dam 636 401, Mettur Taluk, Salem District.

2. Notices were issued under Section 128 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998. It is accepted that before issuance of the impugned notices, no show-cause notices have been issued to the petitioners.

3. In view of that, the impugned notices shall be construed as show-cause notices. The petitioners shall file reply to the said showcause notices within a period of fifteen dates from today. If reply is filed within fifteen days, the respondent shall consider the reply and take a decision in accordance with law.

4. These writ petitions, accordingly, stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.Nos.8381, 8383, 8384, 8370, 8389, 8377, 8395, 8391, 8396 and 8372 of 2024 are closed.
