ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2026 and to grant compassionate appointment to the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, learned Special Government Pleader for respondent No.1 and learned Standing Counsel for respondent Nos.2 to 4.

3. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the request of the petitioner has already been rejected by the Assistant Commissioner, Zone - I, Greater Chennai Corporation, by order dated 19.12.2025. The said order has not been challenged by the petitioner and, without challenging the same, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a Mandamus to consider the compassionate appointment.

4. In the light of the fact that the request of the petitioner has already been rejected, the Mandamus sought for cannot be granted. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the order rejecting the request for compassionate appointment in the manner known to law. There shall be no order as to costs.
