ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking extension of time to comply with the order dated 12.06.2025 passed by this Court in Crl.R.C.No.416 of 2023, thereby set aside the conviction and sentence imposed by the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Salem in STC No.922 of 2017 and confirmed by the

I Additional District and Sessions Judge, Salem, in Crl.A.No.155 of 2019, on condition that the petitioner shall pay the remaining cheque amount of Rs.5,00,000/- to the respondent on or before 21.07.2025. However, the due to financial exigencies, the petitioner was unable to comply with the said condition within the stipulated time.

2. The petitioner has now filed the present petition seeking extension of time to comply with the order passed by this Court and has produced a Demand Draft dated 06.03.2026 for a sum of Rs.5,00,000/-.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the time to comply with the order passed by this Court is extended till 11.03.2026. The petitioner shall hand over the Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- directly to the respondent on or before 11.03.2026, failing which the order passed by this Court dated 12.06.2025 shall stand automatically cancelled. In such an event, the respondent is at liberty to secure the petitioner to undergo the remaining period of sentence as imposed by the Trial Court and confirmed by the Appellate Court.

4. It is also made clear that if the respondent refused to accept the Demand Draft, the petitioner shall deposit the same before the Trial Court to the credit of STC No.922 of 2017 on or before 13.03.2026.
