O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to provide electricity connection and a new EB meter to connection No.09/280/004/434 at Door No.21, Sathyavaanimuthu Street, Sholinganallur, Chennai - 119 in the place of the old burnt EB meter.

2.When the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing, Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the service connection provided to the petitioner's house was disconnected as early as on 28.08.2009 for non-payment of the current consumption charges. learned standing counsel for the respondents submitted that in any event, the petitioner can submit a fresh application seeking for electricity connection and on payment of the arrears and other charges payable by him, the application would be considered.

3.Mr.A.P.Surya Prakasam, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the submission made by Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned standing counsel for the respondents may be recorded and the Writ Petition may be closed.

4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, recording the submission made by the learned standing counsel for the respondents, the Writ Petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
