ORDER

WMP. No.8948 of 2026 is ordered subject to the payment of separate court fee.

2.This writ petition has been filed to direct the official respondents to cancel the patta, standing in the name of respondents 4 and 5 for the property, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, based on the petitioners' representation dated 30.10.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 3.According to the petitioners, respondents 4 and 5 have illegally obtained patta for the property, morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition. The petitioners had given a representation on 30.10.2025 to the official respondents requesting them to cancel the patta, standing in the name of respondents 4 and 5 for the property, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.

4.Mr.R.P.Murugan Raja, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 3. Since no adverse order is being passed against respondents 4 and 5, notice to respondents 4 and 5 is dispensed with by this Court.

5.No prejudice would be caused to the official respondents if the petitioners' representation, as stated supra, is considered, on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the objections of respondents 4 and 5 and any other third party whom the second respondents deems it fit to enquire, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 6.This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioners' representation.

7.For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioners' representation dated 30.10.2025 seeking for cancellation of patta, standing in the name of respondents 4 and 5 for the property, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents filed by the petitioners and after hearing the objections of respondents 4 and 5 and also any other third party whom the second respondent deems it fit to enquire within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
