O R D E R

Petitioner has filed the present writ petition for a direction to the respondent to give permission to conduct cultural programme (Adal Padal Nigalchi) in the event of Arulmighu Thropathy Amman Temple, Kampattu, Padagam Taluk, scheduled to be held on 22.05.2021 between 6.00 p.m and 11.00 p.m by considering his representation dated 10.03.2021.

It is stated by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the State that there is a ban of any religious festival or congregation and the same cannot be conducted until further orders from the State or the Central Government. To this effect, the State has already issued a Government order in G.O. (Ms) No.342 Revenue and Disaster Management (DM-IV) Department dated 08.04.2021, wherein it has been stated that, considering the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, 'Tiruvizhakkal' and religious congregations shall remain prohibited with effect from 10.04.2021.

3. In view of the same, no orders can be issued in the above https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

writ petition. As and when there is a requirement, when rescheduling, the petitioner may apply for permission to the authority concerned.

4. With the above observation, the writ petition is dismissed. However there is no order as to costs.
