The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 354B, 354 C, 376, 384, 506(1), 511 of IPC r/w Section 67, 67A of Information Technology Act, 2000, in Crime No.34 of 2022, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and other accused forcibly committed rape on the defacto complainant and captured the same in mobile phone and demanded a sum of Rs.20,000/- form her, failing which, threatened that they will forward the video to her relatives and also threatened her with dire consequences. When it was ignored by the defacto complainant, the accused have forwarded the alleged video to the people in their village. Hence the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for the respondent Police would submit that the petitioner has committed rape on the defacto complainant and by taking video of the same, demanded a sum of Rs.20,000/- and threatened her with dire consequences. He further submitted that the further allegation is that when she refused to give money, the accused have forwarded the alleged video to the people of their village. He would further submit that this petitioner is concerned, seven previous cases have been registered against him, which are detailed below:

5. Taking into account the nature of offence and the previous antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
