The petitioner, aged 19 years was in love with one Yuvan Shankar and wanted to marry him. They both belong to different caste and community. When the petitioner's parents came to known about their love, they objected and arranged for the marriage of the petitioner with their relative boy. Hence, the petitioner eloped with the said Yuvan Shankar and got married at Varadharaja Perumal Koil, Anthiyur, Erode District. This was an intercaste marriage and the petitioner apprehends life threat by her parents to herself and her husband. Hence, she filed the present petition seeks police protection for her and her husband.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complainant is the father of the petitioner. He also accepted that petitioner has attained the age of majority and has also got married with the said Yuvan Shankar. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. It is seen that the petitioner got married with one Yuvan Shankar and it is a intercaste marriage. Therefore, the father of the petitioner lodged a false complaint before the respondent police stating that the said Yuvan Shankar had kidnapped his daughter and committed sexual offence. Whereas, they got married and living together. However, the petitioner apprehends life threat to her as well as to her husband by her own father, she seeks police protection.
5. Taking into consideration, there is life threat to the petitioner and her husband, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the 2nd respondent is directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her husband and his family members.
