ORDER
This writ petition has been filed by Mr.A.Kandeepan seeking a mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to pass appropriate orders on his representation dated 20.10.2017, in pursuance of the order passed in W.P.No.7158 of 2016 dated 29.02.2016, relating to the equivalency of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering forthwith to enable the petitioner to secure the employment through the respondents 4 and 5 and other selection process for the livelihood of the petitioner.
2. Mr.ERA.Premnath, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondent Nos.1 & 2. Mr.L.P.Shanmughasundaram, learned standing counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent No.3, Ms.C.N.G.Niraimathi, learned standing counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent No.4 and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondent No.5.
3. The petitioner has possessed the qualification of Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) with First Class awarded by the third respondent University. Now the grievance of the petitioner is that when the Anna University had already issued the notification in Advertisement No.001/PR.15/2014 dated 7.1.2014 by including the qualification of Mechatronics engineering for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of its University, the Government cannot go against the decision taken by Anna University in treating the B.E.Mechatronics Engineering as equivalent to Mechanical Engineering. In this regard, the petitioner has also given his representation on 20.10.2017 to the respondents 1 & 2 for consideration of B.E.Mechatronics Engineering as equivalent to B.E.Mechanical Engineering.
4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner, in the light of the communication issued by the Anna University, a pioneer and expert academic body in the field of engineering, and pass
appropriate orders within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CS V) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar ss To
