ORDER
[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter Punitha Anto Anis, aged about 18 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith.

It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Punitha Anto Anis, aged about 18 years, went missing from 08.02.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to
secure her.

Today, M.Vasagaraj (Mobile No.98415 48060), SubInspector of Police, R-10, MGR Nagar Police Station, Chennai District, is present.

On instructions, the Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in MGR Nagar Police Station Crime No.100 of 2022 has been registered on 10.02.2022 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress.

The learned counsel for the petitioner fairly produced the transcripts of whatsapp messages, which shows that Punitha Anto Anis appears to have eloped with one Raja. In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ashok Nagar Sub-Division, Chennai, to supervise the investigation in MGR Nagar Police Station Crime No.100 of 2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Punitha Anto Anis, aged about 18 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the XXIII Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, Chennai, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
