[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to produce the petitioner's daughter viz. R.Yamini, aged about 22 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter R.Yamini, aged about 22 years, went missing from 03.03.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Periamet Police Station Crime No.42 of 2021 for 'woman missing' was registered on 04.03.2021. He further submitted that during the course of investigation, it came to light that Yamini has eloped with one Mohammed Ussain, got married to him and had it registered on 11.03.2021 at SubRegistrar Office, Kadaiyanallur. Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vepery, Chennai, to monitor the investigation in Periamet Police Station Crime No.42 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue R.Yamini, aged about 22 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the II Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to the custody in accordance with law.
