.. Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to provide electricity connection to the petitioner building situated at No.1, Agaram Road, Jegajeevanram Nagar, Selaiyur, Chennai-73.

O R D E R

Heard Mr.P.Vijendran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.K.Raameshuwar, learned Standing Counsel, accepting notice on behalf of the respondent. With the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to provide electricity connection to her building situated at No.1, Agaram Road, Jegajeevanram Nagar, Selaiyur, Chennai-73.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent has produced a written instructions dated 26.04.2016, given by the Executive Engineer (Operation and Maintenance), Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, which reads as follows:- "Ref : W.P.No.14301 of 2016 Sub : Information about the above Writ Petition.

I am giving the following information about to Ref. mentioned case.

1. The petitioner, namely, Mrs.Muthulakshmi is seeking service connection to her building bearing address No.1, Agaram Road, Jegajeevanram Nagar, Selaiyur, Chennai-600 073.

2. At the time of construction, the petitioner constructed the building Ground with two floors. After the inspection, the petitioner rectified with Stilt Plus Two Floors and resubmitted as per the board norms.

3. Therefore, the Electricity Board has installed transformer and other necessary equipments for the purpose of effective service connection.

4. The petitioner has paid all the necessary charges as per demand of the Electricity Board. The petitioner paid Rs.87,300/-, dated 05.05.2015.

5. The Electricity Board ready to provide effective service connection on other request made by the Board."

4. In the light of the stand taken by the respondent in the above instructions, the respondent / Executive Engineer (Operation and Maintenance), Tambaram, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chennai, is directed to implement the same within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
