By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.P.Kannan Kumar, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
The petitioner joined the services of the respondent / Corporation as Conductor on 01.12.1983 in the erstwhile Pattukottai Alagiri Transport Corporation [Vellore] Limited and prior to the age of attainment of superannuation on 31.03.2016, he resigned from service on 11.10.2011 and it was also accepted by the 2nd respondent vide proceedings dated 11.10.2011. However, the petitioner would claim that he has retired from service by way of Voluntary Retirement special scheme on 11.10.2016 and as such, the petitioner is eligible to get retiral benefits which include free bus pass Identification Card and in this regard, he has submitted a representation dated 14.09.2016 to the respondents praying for issuance of Free Pass Identification Card and despite receipt and acknowledgment, no orders have been passed and hence, the petitioner came forward to file the present writ petition. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Kannan Kumar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, either in
his representation or in this writ petition, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 14.09.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
