ORDER

(Order of this Court was delivered by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.) This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose the O.A.No.1106 of 2018 on the file of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai.

2. The case of the petitioner in brief:

The petitioner was working as Sub Post Master under the second respondent and she was suspended vide order dated 17.12.2015. After enquiry, she was removed from service, vide order dated 17.10.2017. The Appeal filed by the petitioner before the first respondent is also ended against the petitioner, vide order dated 16.05.2018. Hence, she filed an Appeal before the Central Administrative Tribunal in O.A.No.1106/2018 and it was came up for enquiry on many hearings from the year 2019. However, the Tribunal has simply adjourned the matter, without any progress. Hence the writ petition.

3. Mr.R.Subramanian, Central Government Standing Counsel takes notice for the first respondent and submitted that the appeal filed by the petitioner is pending before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai in O.A.No.1106/2018 and it will be disposed of, within a time frame, as fixed by this Court.

4. Considering the limited scope of prayer and also taking to account the age of the petitioner and also the fact that the O.A.No.1106/2018 is pending for more than 4 years, we inclined to dispose the writ petition, with the following direction.

(i) The Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai is directed to dispose O.A.No.1106/2018, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
