The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

When the matter was taken up today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that, based on a complaint given by one Rajendran, a case has been registered against the petitioner in Crime No.108 of 2025 for the offences under Sections 296(b) and 115(2) of BNS, 2023. He further submitted that the investigation has been completed and the final report has been e-filed before the Judicial Magistrate, Tiruvarur. In view of the completion of the investigation and the filing of the final report, the presence of the petitioner may not be required. He also submitted that the respondent police are not harassing the petitioner.
