ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.612 of 2018 on the file of Inspector of Police, Thalambur Police Station, Kancheepuram.

Heard Mr.S.Gowtham, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for 1st respondent.

In the instant case, there is a case and counter case in Crime Nos.612 of 2018 and 610 of 2018. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that the counter case has already been quashed by this Court in Crl OP No.14951 of 2022 by an order dated 08.02.2022.

An FIR has been registered under Section 294(b), 435, 506(1) of IPC dated 22.11.2018. No final report has been filed in this case. Hence, there is a bar under Section 468(2) (c) of Cr.PC. In view of the bar in 2/4

taking cognizance of the final report and also of the fact that the counter case in Crime No.610 of 2018 has already been quashed by this Court, no useful purpose will be served in keeping this FIR pending. 5.

In view of the above, the FIR in Crime No.612 of 2018, is hereby quashed and this Criminal Original petition is allowed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed 12.03.2024 Index : Yes/No Speaking Order : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No To 1.The State Rep. by the Sub Inspector of Police, Thalambur Police Station, Chengalpattu.
