Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Dig Vijayapandian, learned Additional Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondent and with their consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for disposal. 2.

The writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the respondent to pass a considered order on the application given by the petitioner on 22.9.2008 and 30.12.2015 and consequential relief by way of direction directing the respondent to issue a patta in favour of D.Lakshmi pertaining to petition property situated at Kancheepuram District Alandur Taluk Thalakanacherri Village Raghupathy Nagar 2nd Street bearing Door No.6/18 Grama Natham S.No.128 (Part) measuring an extent of 1204 Sq.ft. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice if a direction is given to the respondent to dispose of the applications of the petitioner dated 22.9.2008 and 30.12.2015, within a time frame.

4. The petitioner applied for patta on 22.09.2008 to the respondent pursuant to the purchase of the property in question,by paying necessary fees into the bank. Subsequently, the petitioner also submitted an application for patta on 30.12.2015 to the respondent along with documents such as previous patta in the name of Jegannathan, Encumberance Certificate, Sale deed in favour of the petitioner, E.B. Receipt, Property tax and water tax receipts. Since there was no response, the petitioner is before this Court.

Since the application of the petitioner for issuance of patta is kept pending and in view of the above submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 22.09.2008 and 30.12.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording due opportunity to the petitioner as well as any of the interested parties.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
