O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by R. MAHADEVAN,J.,) This Contempt petition is filed to punish the respondents for wilful disobedience of the order made in WP No.17868 of 2016 dated 23.06.2016.

As directed by this Court on 23.06.2016, the fourth respondent is not continuing the illegal construction activity, which is, affirmed by the learned counsel for the respondents 1 to 3.

The learned counsel appearing for the fourth respondent submitted that he undertakes not to have any construction activity unless otherwise his application, for extension of lease, has been decided by the respondents in one way or other.

This Court, to give quietus, directs the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the application for extension of lease on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the contempt petition is closed.
