Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent authority to give permission to conduct the cultural dance programme at Santhapet, Selva Mariamman Temple Thiruvila, Salem District on 05.05.2015 based on petitioner representation dated 23.04.2015.

By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims to be the Organiser of the programme in connection with the temple festival relating to Arulmighu Selva Mariamman Temple, Santhapet, Salem District and he submitted an application/representation dated 23.04.2015 to the respondent to conduct "Manada Mayilada" programme on 05.05.2015 and since, he has not been favoured with any response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.A.S.Prabhu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.

4. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, this Court, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

23.04.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 03.05.2015 and inform the decision taken, to the petitioner forthwith.

5. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
