By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents and their agents from forcibly evicting the petitioner from No.16, Jaffer Sarang Street, Mannadi, Chennai - 600 001, in Corporation Division No.60 in Zone No.5, and consequently directing the respondents 1 to 7 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026, in accordance with law to provide in-situ accommodation to the petitioner. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is slum dweller residing at No.16, Jaffer Sarang Street, Mannadi, Chennai. Development Board (formerly Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board) along with the Greater Chennai Corporation has been implementing welfare schemes for providing housing and rehabilitation to persons residing on pavements and public places who do not own any residential property. After due verification, the officials of the respondent Board, officially allotted temporary token no.175 to the petitioner, however, at the time of preparation of the final referral list, the petitioner's name was omitted and hence, the petitioner made representation dated 23.01.2026 to the respondents seeking to include her name in the referral list and for grant of allotment based on temporary token no.175, however, there is no response. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that this Court may without going into the merits of the case, issue direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026 and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame.

5.Considering the limited relief now sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the second respondent 4/6

to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2026, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.The writ petition is disposed of.
