Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents no.1 to 5 to transfer the land in S. no. 166/2 admeasuring an extent of 1 Acre and 19062 sq. ft., situated at No. 4, Cantonment Pallavaram Village, Pallavaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District for establishment of District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate Court, Pallavaram at Pallavaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2025, within the time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Today, when the case comes up for hearing, learned State counsel placed before us the Minutes of the Meeting dated 02.12.2025, through the memo dated 04.12.2025 of the District Collector, Chengalpattu.

2. After going through the same, we find that in the meeting attended by Principal District Judge, District Collector, District Revenue Officer, Executive Engineer, Buildings (C&M) Division, Public Works Department and Tahsildar, Pallavaram, a land has been identified for construction of the court building.

3. Learned counsel for High Court would submit that the proposal that may be forwarded by Principal District Judge shall be examined on the administrative side by the High Court and appropriate decision with regard to the same shall be taken.

4. As the land has been identified in the meeting, of which the Principal District Judge was a party, we are not inclined to proceed in the matter, but dispose of the petition, leaving it open to the High Court administration to take final decision with regard to the suitability of the land as may be proposed by Principal District Judge.
