O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the petitioner's complaint dated 19.04.2016 immediately and to investigate the same in accordance with law.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.

3. It is seen that this petitioner's daughter Prathiba, aged about 19 years had gone away with Sabarinathan, who does not belong to their caste and had registered the marriage, in connection with which, the petitioner has given a complaint for "girl missing", and the same is pending on the file of the respondent. While so, in the present complaint dated 19.04.2016, the petitioner has alleged that Sabarinathan's date of birth is not correct and that it requires an enquiry. In Lata Singh vs. State of Uttar Pradesh and another [(2006) 5 SCC 475], the Supreme Court has stated that instrumentalities of the State should encourage inter-caste https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

marriage and the couple should be given sufficient protection. When the law is so, it will not be desirable for this Court to issue a direction to the respondent to register the FIR. Accordingly, this petition is closed.
