Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the Respondents to forthwith settle the amount of Rs.4,14,443/- (Rupees Four Lakh Fourteen Thousand and Four Hundred Forty Three Only) payable to the petitioner together with interest at the rate of 24% per annum based on the representation dated 10.02.2015. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 10.02.2015 to the respondent stating among other things that their company was awarded a five years contract for repair and maintenance of 3 numbers of Swing Fog Vehicle mounted fog generators through open tender vide order dated 26.11.2004 and they performed their part of contract between December 2004 and May 2007 without any deficiency and satisfaction of the Corporation of Chennai and subsequently, it has been cancelled and they prayed for return of amount due and payable in respect of the services rendered by them to the tune of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Rs.4,14,443/- and since, no response is forthcoming, came forward to file this writ petition.
3. Heard the submissions of Mr.N.Kolandaivelu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned standing counsel, who accepts notice for the respondents.
4. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the representation, this Court, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 10.02.2015, submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders as expeditiously as possible and not later than twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and inform the decision taken, to the petitioner.
