The Writ Petition had been originally filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the 1st respondent, Central Bank of India, Mumbai, to pay wage arrears and also the contribution of the petitioner to the Group Insurance Scheme and for return of title documents of the petitioner at Madurai and also for return of National Savings Certificates and time deposits, consequent to the representation given by the petitioner on 01.04.2017. There appears to be an another representation on 15.06.2017, which had been addressed by the 1st respondent by letter dated 29.07.2017. Questioning that reply, and seeking to amend the prayer, the aforesaid Writ Miscellaneous Petition has been filed.

2. The learned counsel for the 1st respondent stated that after considerable delay, this petition for amending the prayer has been filed. This aspect can be dealt with in the course of final hearing of the writ petition, but the right of the petitioner seeking to amend the prayer can never be interfered with by this Court and the right vested has been addressed by this Court. Therefore, I would allow the amendment petition namely, W.M.P.No.8021 of 2023. This could be an additional prayer to the prayer which had already been sought in the writ petition.

3. The Registry is directed to carry out necessary amendment in the writ petition and the petitioner may give the amended copy of the affidavit and the writ petition to the learned counsel for the respondents.
