Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to take appropriate action on the basis of the proceedings initiated by the 2nd respondent in O.Mu.519/2020/A1, dated 23.02.2021 based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2021, thereby restore drinking water service connection which was already provided to the petitioner's house through the Executive Officer, Ayyampalayam, Panchayat, the 4th respondent herein.

Mr.E.Sundaram, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for R1 and R2 and Mr.E.Vijay Anand, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for R3 and both learned counsel are fully armed with instructions to enable a final disposal of the matter, even at the stage of admission. Hence, by consent expressed by learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned counsel for the respondents, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing R3/the Block Development Officer, Pollachi to restore the drinking water service connection provided to her residence at No.2/24 A, Ayyampalayam Village, Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District, which was disconnected in the first week of August 2020. The petitioner has made a representation seeking reconnection on 14.09.2020 before R2, the Sub-Collector, Pollachi, who has forwarded the representation to R3 for appropriate action as early as on 28.11.2020, despite which R3 has not taken any action. Hence, this writ petition.
3. Mr.Vijay Anand, learned Additional Government Pleader who appear for R3 would assure the Court that R3 would promptly dispose the aforesaid representation which has been forwarded by the Sub-District Collector, after hearing the petitioner within a period of four weeks from today. Assuming that the result is condusive to the petitioner, consequential action should be taken by R4 upon disposal of the representation, expeditiously.
4. This writ petition is disposed in the above terms. No costs.
