Respondents in both contempt petitions COMMON PRAYER: Contempt Petitions filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, to punish the respondent willfully disobeying the order dated 19.12.2019 in WP No.16558 of 2019 (in Cont p No.516 OF 2020) 19.12.2019 in WP No.11793 of 2019 (in Cont p No.517 OF 2020) .

For Petitioner : Mr.Venkatramani in both cont.p Senior Counsel For Respondent : Mr.S.R.Rajagopal, in both Cont P Additional Advocate General Assisted by Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Advocate General submitted that the order passed by this Court has been complied with and a Government order has been passed in G.O.Ms.No.199 dated 08.12.2020, giving notional promotion to the petitioner.

Mr.K.Venkatramani, learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that even though the petitioner has been given notional promotion to the post of Assistant Engineer, Superintending Engineer and Chief Engineer, he has not been paid the attendant benefits. The learned Senior counsel submitted that the petitioner must be given the liberty to challenge the above said Government order.

3. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the subsequent development that has been taken place, these contempt petitions are

closed, by giving liberty to the petitioner to workout his remedy insofar as the claim for attendant benefits are concerned, in the manner known to law.
