Respondents PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay the value of the confiscated 72,157 Kgs of Boiled Rice along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date of seizure i.e.03.03.2012 till the date of payment to the petitioner, within the time fixed by this Court.

This writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus directing the respondents to pay the value of the confiscated 72,157 Kgs of Boiled Rice along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

from the date of seizure i.e.03.03.2012 till the date of payment to the petitioner, within the time fixed by this Court. 2.Mr.B.Nambi Selvan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and based on instructions, submits that the issue raised by the petitioner will be settled based on the representation made by them on 07.09.2017. He seeks two months time for passing appropriate order. The above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents is recorded and the writ petition is disposed of, by directing the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.09.2017 and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
