Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition is filed, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India calling for the records in respect of detention order passed vide Memo No.1098/BDFGISSV/2014 dated 29.08.2014 on the file of the 2nd respondent and to quash the order of detention dated 29.08.2014 and thereby direct the detenu Thiru Chinnappaiyan @ Sundaraj detained at Central Prison, Puzhal, to be produced before this Court and set the detenu at liberty and to award cost and adequate compensation.

ORDER

The petitioner, who is the mother of the detenu, Chinnappaiyan @ Sundaraj, Son of Daniel, aged about 40 years, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 29.08.2014 against his son branding him as a "Goonda" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 [Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982].

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the impugned detention order dated 29.08.2014 had been revoked by the authorities. As such, the Habeas Corpus Petition has become infructuous and she has also made an endorsement to that effect. Hence, this petition is dismissed as infructuous.
