ORDER
The management of C&A Sourcing International Limited, India (Branch), Tirupur & Karnataka have come to this Court questioning the correctness of the order passed by the second respondent Labour Court in C.P.No.238 of 2013 dated 27.9.2017 directing the petitioner management to pay a sum of Rs.22,54,110/- to the first respondent Mr.P.Nachiappan towards his backwages and other benefits along with Rs.1,000/- being the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
cost of the litigation.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition, a settlement has been reached between the petitioners and the first respondent and a copy thereof has also been produced before this Court accompanied with an affidavit dated 2nd March, 2018, wherein the first respondent also has appended his signature accepting the settlement. Hence, he requested this Court to dispose of the writ petition on the basis of the said settlement, as the petitioners are not inclined to prosecute the writ petition.
3. Since a settlement has been reached between the petitioners and the first respondent agreeing to pay/accept a sum of Rs.19,00,000/- (Rupees nineteen lakhs only), in lieu of Rs.22,55,110/-, this writ petition is disposed of in terms of the aforesaid settlement. The deed of settlement along with the affidavit dated 2nd March, 2018 shall form part of the order.
