[RESPONDENTS] Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioners to be appointed through direct recruitment in the post of Assistant Engineer in the 2nd respondent department in the Scheduled Caste/Schedule tribe reserved category.

With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the

admission stage itself.

2.The petitioners have come forward with this writ petition, seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the case of the petitioners to be appointed through direct recruitment in the post of Assistant Engineer in the second respondent Department in the Scheduled Caste/Schedule tribe reserved category.

3.It is seen that the petitioners have made a representation dated 27.11.2014, to fill up the backlog vacancies in respect of the post of Assistant Engineer in the second respondent Department under the Scheduled Caste/Schedule tribe reserved category. In support of their contentions, the petitioners have placed reliance on the Division Bench Judgment of this Court dated 22.08.2013 in W.A..No.499 of 2011 [TAMIL NADU DR.AMBEDKAR AGRICULTURE ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION REP. BY ITS PRESIDENT v. THE STATE OF TAMIL NADU REP. BY THE SECRETARY TO GOVERNMENT & 3 ORS].

4.At the time of hearing of the Writ Petition, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the second respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioners dated 27.11.2014, in the light of the Hon'ble Division Bench Judgment of this Court in the case of TAMIL NADU DR.AMBEDKAR AGRICULTURE ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION, referred supra, within a stipulated period.

5.Accordingly, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioners dated 27.11.2014, in the light of the Hon'ble Division Bench Judgment of this Court in the case of TAMIL NADU DR.AMBEDKAR AGRICULTURE ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION, referred supra, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
