ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 5th respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2026 seeking transfer, and accommodated in the existing vacant post at Government Kottar Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, by way of deputation/transfer from Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital to Government Taluk Hospital, Senamvilai, Kanyakumari District, on medical grounds under the Spouse Quota Policy.
2. The case of the petitioner is that she was appointed as a temporary nurse under time-scale of pay at Government Medical College Hospital, Kilpauk, Chennai, in the yar 2017 and subsequently, her service was regularised. Thereafter, she has been serving as a permanent Staff Nurse for the past ten years with unblemished record of service. Subsequently, she was transferred on compassionate grounds to Government Hospital, Semavilai, on 01.03.2023 to be near her husband, a CRPF soldier posted in Thiruvananthapuram, and to undergo infertility treatment. Whileso, on 24.06.2023, the petitioner received a letter from the Government Kilpauk
Medical College and Hospital regarding the cancellation of her transfer order, even she has completed four months in the new posting, despite repeated representations citing spouse quota eligibility and medical hardship. Though several vacancies subsequently arose and were filled by juniors without proper counseling, her requests were ignored. Hence the petitioner filed a petition in W.P No.45869 of 2025 and this Court, by its order dated 25.11.2025, issued a direction to the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider her representation, however, no action has been taken. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 06.02.
2026 seeking transfer, and to be accommodated in the existing vacant post at Government Kottar Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, by way of deputation/transfer from Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital to Government Taluk Hospital, Senamvilai, Kanyakumari District, on medical grounds under the Spouse Quota Policy. However, no order was passed till date. Hence the present writ petition has been filed. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the 5th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2026, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.
4.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 5th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2026 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 25-02-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order UMA To
