Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to permit the petitioner to quarry and transport the quarried mineral on payment of necessary seigniorage from the lease granted government stone quarry, measuring 5.00.0 hec. in S.F. Nos.560 & 563 (Part-6) of Nagamangalam Village, Denkanikottai Taluk, Krishnagiri District for a period of five years and five months from the date of expiry of lease period mentioned in the lease agreement i.e. from 01.07.2018 or from the date of permitting the quarry operations.

Earlier, when the above Writ Petition was posted for hearing on 03.03.2022, the learned counsel appearing for petitioner reported that, he has no instructions from the petitioner. Hence, he wants to withdraw his appearance. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing and even though the name of petitioner was printed in the cause list, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner either in person or through the counsel on record.
