PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents 4 and 5 to provide police protection to the petitioner and his property situated in S.No.309/25, Sathipattu Village, Panruti Taluk based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 4 and 5 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his property comprised in S.No.309/25, situated at Sathipattu Village, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to3 and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents 4 and 5. Perused the materials available on record.

3. It is seen that the petitioner is the owner of the property comprised in S.No.309/25 situated at Sathipattu Village, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District. While being so, the sixth respondent is interfering with the petitioner's peaceful possession and enjoyment of the said property with an intention to unlawfully dispossess him. Therefore, the petitioner has lodged a complaint seeking police protection, instead of approaching the civil court for appropriate relief.

4. In view of the above, this Court is of the considered opinion that the police protection cannot be granted to the petitioner while enjoying his property. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate relief as against the sixth accused. No costs.
