[This matter has been heard through video conference] This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction in the nature of mandamus to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 13.01.2021 for the grant of patta in his favour in respect of land comprised in S.No.38/2A - extent 2227.5 square feet and punja land comprised in S.No.33/8A - extent 603.5 square feet situated at Uliyamattu Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District.

2. According to the petitioner, she is the sister of one Baby. Her sister had purchased the above said lands by way of two different registered sale deeds on 21.11.2013. From the date of purchase and until her death, she was in possession and enjoyment of the properties. She died on 27.11.201. Further, according to the petitioner, during her life time, her sister had bequeathed the above said properties in her favour by way of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

will dated 29.11.2016 and therefore, she has become the absolute owner of the properties. The grievance of the petitioner is that her application to the respondent dated 13.01.2021 for grant of patta in her favour has not been considered though more than three months have passed. Hence, she has no other option except to approach this court seeking a direction for early disposal of the application.

Considering the limited nature of prayer, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 13.01.2021 for patta on merits and in accordance with law and pass suitable orders thereof within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent and produce all the documents relating to the title of the properties. No costs.
