Assistant (Chemistry) drawn as on 01.01.2011 for the year 2011-2012 and published on 22.06.2011, in the appropriate place and promote the petitioner with all consequential benefits. The sole issue raised in this writ petition is that whether the degree granted in Chemistry are equivalent to Bsc.Chemistry or not.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner states that during the pendency of the writ petition, the Government issued G.O.(Ms).No.72, dated 30.04.2013, granting equivalence. As per the said G.O, the M.Sc.Organic Chemistry Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and 5 year integrated Chemistry to M.Sc. Chemistry are equivalent.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents contended that Chemistry and Physical Chemistry are not exactly similar. Therefore they are not to be considered equal as per the order dated 09.06.2017. However, this Court is of the opinion that thereafter, the Government department passed G.O.Ms.No.72 dated 30.04.2013, that the same are equivalents. In this view of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the Writ petitioner on 24.06.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of the receipt of the copy of this order. The Writ petitioner is directed to enclose the copy of the representation and the Government Order along with the orders passed in this writ petition.
