ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner who was remanded to judicial custody on 12.12.2019 for the offence under Section 67 of NDPS Act, dated 11.12.2019, under Section 8(c) r/w Sections 20(b)(ii), 22, 28, 29 and Section 9A r/w Section 25A of the NDPS Act and punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B), 22(c), 28, 29 and Section 9A r/w Section 25A of the same Act in Cr.No.48/1/16/2019 NCB on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2.Though this petition has been filed seeking to enlarge the petitioner on bail, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is languishing in jail from 12.12.2019, hence, this Court may issue direction to the learned Special Judge, I Additional Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under NDPS Act, Chennai, to conclude the trial in C.C.No.66 of 2020 as expeditiously as possible on priority basis. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the trial in C.C.No.66 of 2020 will be concluded as expeditiously as possible on priority basis.

4.Considering the gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, however, considering the relief now sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court directs the learned Special Judge, I Additional Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under NDPS Act, Chennai, to conclude the trial in C.C.No.66 of 2020 as expeditiously as possible, on priority basis. 5.This criminal original petition is dismissed. -sd/- 19/04/2021 This order, on being produced, be punctually observed and carried into execution by all concerned TRUE COPY Sub-Assistant Registrar (Statistics/C.S.)
