PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, direct the respondents herein to produce the body of the detenu by name Thaniga @ Thanigavel, aged about 35 years befoe this Court and set him at liberty.

1. The learned counsel for the petitioner says that, since, the detenu has been remanded to judicial custody, this petition has been rendered infructuous.
1.1. Learned counsel for the petitioner further says that there are other aspects involved in the matter, and therefore, he would want liberty to take recourse to an appropriate remedy, albeit, in accordance with law.

2. This petition is, accordingly, closed. Needless to say, if, the police has committed any infraction of law, the petitioner will be at liberty to approach the appropriate forum, albeit, in accordance with law.
