Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a direction in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent - District Collector, Thiruvallur, Thiruvallur District, to consider the representation of the petitioner made on 25.09.2018 to cancel the settlement deed in Doc.No.2396 of 2017 dated 19.06.2017 on the file of the Sub-Registrar Office, Ponneri, made in favour of the third respondent and pass such further orders.

When the matter was taken up for hearing on earlier occasions on 01.07.2024 and 03.07.2024, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner. Hence, the Registry was directed to list the matter under the caption "For Dismissal" on 09.07.2024.
2. Even today, 09.07.2024, when the matter was taken up for hearing at 10.40 a.m., none appeared on behalf of the petitioner and the matter was passed over. Again, the matter was called at 11.30 a.m, there was no representation for the petitioner. It is made clear and evident that the petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the case.
3. Since there is no representation for the petitioner, this Court is left with no other option except to dismiss the petition for non-prosecution. 2/4
4. In the result, the writ petition stands dismissed for NonProsecution. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
