This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent Police to protect the life of the petitioner's brother, who is now confined at Puzhal Central Prison and to get the extension of remand through Video Conferencing Platform.
2.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted the communication of the Superintendent of Prison, Central Prison-II, Puzhal, Chennai - 600 066 made to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Armed Reserve, St.Thomas Mount, Chennai dated 02.03.2024. It is seen that strong police protection is going to be given to the petitioner's brother in a closed vehicle along with sufficient automatic weapons whenever the petitioner's brother is taken to the Court.

3.In the light of the above development, except recording the submissions of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor and the communication dated 02.03.2024, no further orders are required to be passed in this Writ Petition. The extension of remand through Video Conferencing Platform is a decision that will be taken by the concerned Magistrate and this Court cannot issue directions in this regard. 4.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above terms.
