Ms.Swarnalatha, learned Central Government Standing Counsel takes notice for the first respondent.
Mr.R.A.S.Senthilvel, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the second respondent. By consent of both parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner, based on his passport application in file Number MA2062567453519 dated 04.11.2019.

3. It is seen that the petitioner made an application for issuance of passport before the first respondent in File No. MA2062567453519. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that the said application has not been considered and disposed of so far.
4. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the first respondent to consider the said application and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the first respondent to consider the said application and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the meantime, it is open to the petitioner to appear before the first respondent and produce all the relevant documents, if any, so as to enable the first respondent to dispose of his application. No costs.
