ORDER
This criminal miscellaneous petition is filed seeking extension of time to comply with the condition imposed by the learned XIX Additional Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai in Crl.M.P. No. 01 of 2025 in Crl.A. No. 1331 of 2025 by order dated 11.11.2025 directing the petitioner to deposit 20% of the compensation amount to the credit of STC No. 29 of 2025 within a period of sixty days from the date of that order.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the affidavit filed in support of the petition.

Earlier, by order dated 22.01.2026, this Court had granted extension of time by three weeks to the petitioner to comply with the condition imposed by the learned Trial Judge i.e, to deposit 20% of the compensation amount to the credit of STC No. 29 of 2025.

However, it is stated in the affidavit filed in support of the petition that the petitioner was suffering from severe health issues and was hospitalised for several days, due to which she could not make the deposit, as ordered by the Trial Court, even within the extended time period. The petitioner would also state that non-compliance of the order of this Court was neither wilful nor wanton.

Considering the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of the above petition, this Court is inclined to extend the time to comply with the condition imposed by the learned XIX Additional Judge, City Civil Court, Chennai in Crl.M.P. No. 01 of 2025 in Crl.A. No. 1331 of 2025 by order dated 11.11.2025 directing the petitioner to deposit 20% of the compensation amount to the credit of STC No. 29 of 2025 by a further period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
