Prayer: Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondent for his wilful disobedience of the order dated 26.07.2021, passed by this Court in W.P.No.9696 of 2021. When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is represented by Mr.Ramanlal learned Additional Advocate General, assisted by Mr.R.Balaji, learned standing counsel for the respondent that the order of 1/5

this Court has been complied with.

2. This has been refuted by the learned counsel for the petitioner stating that though this Court had ordered for payment of last drawn wages, which comes to Rs.22,207/-, as per paragraph No.15 of the order of the Special Joint Labour Commissioner, Chennai, dated 07.01.2021, the respondent has wrongly calculated the last drawn wages of the petitioner as Rs.21,535/- and thus there is a shortfall of Rs.672/- p.m.

3. In reply, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent has stated that statutory deductions alone were made and the balance amount due to the petitioner has been paid. The petitioner cannot raise any issue in respect of any statutory deduction.

4. It is seen that the order of this Court has been complied with. If the petitioner feels that there is an unexplained shortfall of Rs.672/- p.m., it is open to the petitioner to work out his remedy before appropriate Forum, if so advised in the manner known to law. 2/5

5. With the above observation, this Contempt petition is closed. No costs.
