PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to give adequate Police protection to petitioner and his family members to participate the marriage to be held on 10.03.2023 at Hotel Savera between 6.30. a.m. to 7.30 a.m.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to give adequate Police protection to petitioner and his family members to participate the marriage to be held on 10.03.2023 at Hotel Savera between 6.30. a.m. to 7.30 a.m.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that petitioner's son-in-law is third respondent, C.Velayutham @ Muthu. Petitioner's daughter Mahalakshmi was married to him. Mahalakshmi and third respondent/C.Velayutham @ Muthu has son named M.Chidambaram @ Madhan. The marriage between M.Chidambaram @ Madhan and Ramya is scheduled to be held on 10.03.2023 at Savera Hotel, Mylapore. Petitioner wants to attend this marriage along with his wife and family members. However, he apprehends threat to his life and his family members from his son-in-law, the third respondent. Therefore, this petition. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2023

seeking for Police protection to attend the marriage is being enquired in C.S.R.No.51 of 2023.

4.In the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, where petitioner apprehends threat to his life in the hands of the his son-in-law, if he attends the marriage of his grand son for the reason that the relationship between the petitioner and his son-in-law is not in cordial terms for several years, this Court directs second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2023 and pass appropriate orders immediately.
