Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the entire records connected with the impugned Advertisements issued by the second respondent-University on its Official Website on 09.12.2014 with regard to the Direct Recruitment for the posts of Assistant Professor in respect of its Constituent College at Edapadi and Quash the same and consequently direct the 2nd respondent - University to issue fresh advertisements to the posts of Assistant Professor in its Constituent College, Edapadi in strict compliance with G.O.Ms.No.55 of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (S) Department dated 08.04.2010. The petitioner challenged the impugned advertisement on the ground that the second respondent has applied 200 point roster to all the departments as one unit instead of applying for every post in each department. The writ petition was entertained and an order of interim stay was granted on 30.04.2015.

2. Mr.Godson Swaminath, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent has produced a letter of the second respondent dated 23.08.2016 wherein in the University Syndicate Meeting, a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

resolution was passed on 19.08.2016 to consider withdrawal of posting advertisements released in the newspaper on 09.12.2014 based on subjudice with regard to Periyar University Constituted Arts and Science College, Edappadi and a fresh advertisement be issued.

3. In the light of the said letter of the second respondent dated 23.08.2016, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition. Therefore, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, as and when fresh notification is issued and if the petitioner is aggrieved by the same, she is at liberty to challenge the same in accordance with law before the competent forum. No costs.
