Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner dated 13.02.2017 and 21.02.2018 and to appoint the petitioner in suitable post under the compassionate appointment. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

2. The petitioner's father while serving as Conductor in the second respondent office died due to heart attack at the age of 49 years on 25.10.2015 leaving behind the petitioner and his family in lurch. Therefore, the petitioner's mother after obtaining legal heir ship certificate made a representation to the respondents 1 and 2 for grant of contributory family pension and also to provide compassionate appointment to the petitioner on 13.02.2017. another representation dated 21.02.2018. But till date no order has been passed, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.K.Gandhi, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, who sought reasonable time to consider the case of the petitioner subject to the seniority maintained in the matter of compassionate appointment.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner subject to the seniority maintained in the matter of compassionate appointment and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With this direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
